New Custom Santa Cruz Dreadnought
Pretty blissed out up in the Pacific Northwest today. DH model features a hybrid bracing that is both tapered and scalloped. Bearclaw sitka top, Indian rosewood, hide glue, adirondack braces...1 3/4 nut with a 2 1/4 spacing at the saddle... It’s incredibly explosive. Just sounds huge, but not boomy. Amazing separation, overtones, and sustain. Could not be happier. ![]() Saturday, October 8th, 2011 7:36 AM PDT

When you think of how many products are at NAMM (which is incomprehensible) and that they only chose one acoustic guitar, it's pretty stunning.

Saturday May 30th the duo will be hosted by someone that regularly puts on house concerts for touring acts. It’s a fabulous home atop Mt Tabor in South East Portland, with a wonderful acoustic space that has been very thoughtfully and comfortably set up for intimate concerts. Doors will open at 6:30. At 7pm I will do a very short solo guitar set followed by the duo. For more information, reservations, and directions, please contact Mark at (503) 644-5490 or mark@mahonia.com Tuesday, January 20th, 2009 1:50 PM PST
I’m doing a solo house concert in San Francisco Saturday evening March 7th. It’s being hosted by some very dear friends of mine that are truly wonderful people, in a great old house in the Sunset district. I’m sure it’ll be a great group of folks to meet. I’m driving down this time, so I’ll be bringing a few of the Santa Cruz guitars they made for me over the Summer for people to check out. I’m planning on sticking around all night if anyone want to jam, talk, etc. Shoot me an e-mail fairly soon at eric@ericskye.com to reserve a spot.
Sunday March 8th, from 2pm, I'll be doing a house in beautiful Watsonville. It's $15 per person. For more information email tebr@cruzio.com Tuesday, October 21st, 2008 7:17 AM PDT

Bay Area Gig July 24th
Just want to give those in the Bay Area a heads up about a very cool gig I´m doing with Portland bassist Brian Casey http://www.myspace.com/ericskyeandbriancaseyduo It will be in Campbell, California on Thursday, July 24th, in the Harvest Room of the Pruneyard Plaza Hotel. Doors open at 6:45pm and we´ll begin at 7:00pm. I´ll play about a 1/2 hour set solo fingerstyle, and then over an hour with Portland bassist Brian Casey. And then, if people want, we´ll hang out for a little Q&A about playing acoustic jazz, or whatever, after. The room is relatively small, intimate and very private…no interruptions; no distractions. And it´s right next to a good brewpub so I won´t be too homesick for the Pacific Northwest. It´s $15, young people 16 and younger, accompanied by an adult, are free. You can reserve a space by sending an e-mail to the person putting this all on, Darryl Noda, dhnoda@sbcglobal.net Friday, May 30th, 2008 4:32 PM PDT
Made a quickie three tune demo yestermorning of the new duo I´m working on with upright bassist Brian Casey.
You can download them immediately by clicking here: http://snipr.com/2bn0b-pbixw5 Or you can just stream here: http://www.ericskye.com/music/1-01_All_Blues_Duo.m3u http://www.ericskye.com/music/1-02_Blue_Bossa_Duo.m3u http://www.ericskye.com/music/1-03_Summertime_Duo.m3u There´s going to be a new website up next week that I'll have a link to with duo pictures, tunes, and Summer dates in Portland, Seattle, San Jose, and San Francisco. I´m just incredibly excited these days about the new duo with upright bassist Brian Casey right now http://www.myspace.com/tangle_head . I think it´s just a once in a lifetime match up. Brian is an incredible musician and person and I´m truly humbled and amazed that I get to make music with him right now. Saturday, March 8th, 2008 9:44 PM PST
This morning my wife and I went to Santa Cruz Guitars and got an amazing tour by Richard Hoover and Willie Carter. These are far and away some of the nicest people we´ve ever met. It was just incredible. I ended up nervously playing a bunch of tunes there in the office for them with more than a few truly stellar guitars. Click below for pics.
